Method
Our system of music is based on a 12 tone
equal temperament chromatic scale starting from an abitrary root to its
octave (which is a frequency of 2 times the root).
The relationship between steps or semitones is calculated by multiplying the
fundamental times the 12th root of 2, which is approximately 1.0594630943.
Back in December 2013, its decimal numerical value was computed to at least twenty billion digits.
The calculator at the top is based on 12 chromatic steps.
The calulator at the bottom is based on N. You can use whatever number
of steps per octave you want.
