Back in early March I was officiating at the FIRST Robotics regional
competition in New York City when I came across this kid walking around with a tripod with 6
GoPros mounted on it. He told me it was for creating 360 degree
videos. Right there he had my attention.
The camera(s) mount was 3D printed and allowed for a GoPro to be pointed in
every direction. All of the cameras were controlled by one remote and
the videos were post edited together with software like
VideoStitch.
Once processed the software produces a single 360 degree video from the 6
GoPro files. If you haven't seen this before checkout the video just above.
Use the arrow icon in the top Left corner of the video to change the
point-of-view.
